Demchak is out today! *gasp!*

No worries, I think today will be enjoyed by all. When I return on Monday, I just need to hear that all of my students were well behaved and I'll be the happiest teacher in Monroe.

6th grade: As a Tech Ed teacher, I'm fascinated by technology. Technology has driven our world to travel space, go to the depths of the ocean and create the iPhone. However, with any piece of technology there are always negatives as well as benefits. Please watch "Wall-e" and on a piece of paper answer the following questions:

1) What connections can you draw from themes in the movie to themes in our lives?
2) Can you think of any robots/computers that humans completely rely on today?
3) In our modern lives, can you see any behavior that we currently practice that is harming the planet?

7th grade/8th grade: Demchak is a pretty well established tree-hugger (Did you know all the wood we used are from certified sustainable forests?) Lately, with certain...political characters, I feel our environment is under dire threat. Please watch 'the Lorax' and on a piece of paper answer the following questions:

1) What connections can you draw from themes in the movie to themes in our lives?
2) To what extent is Monroe, CT like Thneedville?
3) Have you ever thought of where the materials from your possessions come from?

    Mr. Demchak's blog

Welcome to my Blog. You will see information that pertains to the educational world in which I happily live.

I am a teacher for the next 30 years (unless beanie babies get valuable again...) but  forever a student and my blog reflects this.
